Zone Success!

Kiama athletes performed admirably at the Mid South Coast Zone championships held at Myimbarr Community Fields, Flinders, on the 18th and 19th of December.

Against some tough competition from the Albion Park, Lake Illawarra, Shoalhaven, St Georges Basin, and Milton Ulladulla Centres, Kiama athletes did the club proud.

Athletes from the Under 8 to Under 17 Age Groups who finished in the top three (3) progress to the Region 4 Championships to be held at Kerryn McCann Athletic Centre, Wollongong, in February 2022.

Kiama’s gold medal winners on the weekend were  Stephen Alfano (Under 12), Bailey Calcraft (Under 8), Jack Calcraft (Under 10), Zoe Haylen (Under 15), Ella Hewitt (Under 15), Maiya Hewitt (Under 13), Kingston Johns (Under 8), Phoenix Johns (Under 14), Lilah Norden (Under 15), Temana Searle (Under 11), Amelia Weatherlake (Under 15) and the Senior Girls 4x100m Relay Team.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the weekend such a success particularly our Team Managers, Kelly and Josh Hewitt.

Details of all Region qualifiers, including the next best four (4) performances in each event, will be published once the Eastern Riverina and Western Riverina Zone Championships are completed in mid-January 2022.

Kiama Little Athletics Centre was formed in 1979.
It was the 114th Little Athletics Centre registered with sportsfield-statusLittle Athletics NSW.
We cater for children as young as 3 in Tiny Tots and Age Groups range from U/6 to U/17.
The Little Athletics season commences in September and concludes in March.
Our weekly competitions are held at the Kiama Sports Complex, Havilah Place, Kiama.  Due to the lack of adequate lighting the first five weeks are held from 9:00am on Saturday mornings.  Shortly after Daylight Saving commences competition moves to 5:30pm Friday evenings.  Over the years a dedicated group of people have worked tirelessly to provide the equipment and facilities that are available for the athletes to enjoy.  The Committee members are all volunteers with an active interest in promoting Little Athletics within the local community.  We encourage all athletes to compete at Carnivals run by other Centres.  Coming events will be advertised on this website as well as on the noticeboard during Competition.

Adverse Weather Announcements
In the event of adverse weather conditions a decision will be made at 4:00pm where possible.  Check this website, “Kiama Little Athletics” Facebook page or Team App for updates.
