Zone Championships – Entry

Our Centre is part of the Mid South Coast Zone.  The “Zone” comprises of six (6) Centres – Albion Park, Kiama, Lake Illawarra, Milton Ulladulla, Shoalhaven and St Georges Basin.  Each season the Zone Championships are held at a different Centre in the Zone.  This season the Lake IIllawarra Centre is hosting “Zone” at Myimbarr Community Park, Wattle Road, Flinders on the 9th and 10th December 2017.

Only athletes from U/7 and up are eligible to compete at the Zone Championships.

Athletes are encouraged to attend and compete in this event.  Entry is free and it’s a great experience, not only for the athletes, but the parents as well.  Athletes of all abilities can enter.  This is a terrific chance to put the skills learnt at Centre on Friday nights into practice.

The entry form can be downloaded here or picked up from the Canteen on Friday.
Completed entry forms can be handed in at the Canteen.

Entries close 24th November 2017.  We would like to see lots of our new athletes attend.

Athletes from U/7 to U/12 can enter in a maximum of four (4) events.  Athletes from U/13 to U/17 can enter in a maximum of six (6) events over the weekend.  Athletes who are placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any event will progress to the Regional Championships at Wollongong on the weekend of the 17th and 18th February 2018.  U/7 athletes do not progress to the Regional Championships.  Athletes who are placed at the Regional Championships in the U/8 age group do not progress to the State Championships.

Kiama Little Athletics Centre was formed in 1979.
It was the 114th Little Athletics Centre registered with sportsfield-statusLittle Athletics NSW.
We cater for children as young as 3 in Tiny Tots and Age Groups range from U/6 to U/17.
The Little Athletics season commences in September and concludes in March.
Our weekly competitions are held at the Kiama Sports Complex, Havilah Place, Kiama.  Due to the lack of adequate lighting the first five weeks are held from 9:00am on Saturday mornings.  Shortly after Daylight Saving commences competition moves to 5:30pm Friday evenings.  Over the years a dedicated group of people have worked tirelessly to provide the equipment and facilities that are available for the athletes to enjoy.  The Committee members are all volunteers with an active interest in promoting Little Athletics within the local community.  We encourage all athletes to compete at Carnivals run by other Centres.  Coming events will be advertised on this website as well as on the noticeboard during Competition.
Adverse Weather Announcements
In the event of adverse weather conditions a decision will be made at 4:00pm where possible.  Check this website or our “Kiama Little Athletics” Facebook page for updates.  An announcement will also be made on local radio stations i98fm and Wave FM, where time permits, after a decision has been made.
