The safety of our athletes, families and volunteers always comes first, and unfortunately the track and field areas are not safe for competition today.

Kiama Little Athletics launched the 2026–27 season today on a very warm Spring morning, and it was wonderful to see so many new faces joining us for the first time. Our Tiny Tots were particularly delightful, enjoying their activities with plenty of enthusiasm.
Today marked the first of our two Orientation Days, giving athletes and parents the chance to familiarise themselves with the various events. It also provided an opportunity for parent helpers to learn how to measure, record and assist throughout the program.
Trialists are welcome – simply complete the required paperwork at the canteen before joining in.

If you are interested in becoming part of our Centre, register online and visit the Kiama Sports Complex at around 8:30am on Saturday morning to finalise the process. Please bring your invoice with you. Uniforms will also be available for purchase at this time.

After you register online it will still be necessary for you to pick up your Registration Number, Age Patch, etc. This can be done on Saturday morning or Friday evening, prior to competition, during the season.
Kiama Little Athletics’ 2025–2026 season wrapped up on Friday, 27 March with our annual presentation evening at the Kiama AFC Clubhouse, Bonaira Oval.
The Centre’s highest honour, the Dean Blair Memorial Trophy, is awarded to the athlete who demonstrates the greatest overall improvement throughout the season. This year’s recipient was Jack Green (13s), with George Olson (11s) placing second and Lilah Kia (12s) third.
Dean Blair was a member of Kiama Little Athletics in the 1980 season, joining at just nine years of age. In only three months he broke 15 Centre records, a reflection of his remarkable natural talent. Dean tragically passed away in December 1980 following a playground accident, and the perpetual trophy was created in his memory.
The Don Hodgekiss Award for best performance across Zone, Region and State was presented to Gus Astin (10s).
The Coaches’ Most Improved Award was awarded to 11s athlete Addison Blazic.

The Centre’s Annual General Meeting will be held via Zoom at 7:00pm on Wednesday, 22 April.

Kiama Little Athletics will hold its Annual Presentation Day from 5:00pm on Friday, 27 March at the Kiama Power AFL Clubhouse, Bonaira Oval.
Following the formalities, we’ll fire up the BBQ with free sausage sandwiches and drinks for all attendees.

Twenty-six (26) of Kiama’s Little Athletes made the trip to the Kerryn McCann Athletic Centre, Wollongong, for the Region 4 Championships on the weekend of February 7th and 8th. Region 4 is made up of four (4) Zones with Centres from Eastern Riverina, Mid South Coast, South Coast Highlands and Western Riverina.
From a Centre perspective this was one of the most successful Region carnivals for many years. Gold medal performances were recorded by Ashleigh Astin-Briggs (Girls 12s 80m Hurdles), Joshua Astin-Briggs (Boys 14s 400m, 100m Hurdles and 300m Hurdles), Addison Blazic (Girls 11s Discus), Ieremaia Falemoe (Boys 10s 100m and 200m), Olive Galloway (Girls 9s 70m), and Ivy Turano Lyall (Girls 13s Javelin).

Thirty three (33) Kiama Little Athletes have qualified to take part in one hundred and five (105) events at this year’s Region 4 Championships to be held at Kerryn McCann Athletic Centre, Wollongong, on February 7 and 8.

Kiama athletes performed admirably at the Mid South Coast Zone championships held at the Kiama Sports Complex, Havilah Place, Kiama, on the 6th & 7th of December 2025.
Against some tough competition from the Albion Park, Lake Illawarra, Milton Ulladulla, Nowra Athletics, Shoalhaven, St Georges Basin, and Victory Runners Clubs, Kiama athletes did the Centre proud.
Athletes from the 8’s to 15’s Age Groups who finished in the top three (3) progress to the Region 4 Championships to be held at Kerryn McCann Athletics Centre, Wollongong, in early February 2026.
Kiama’s gold medal winners on the weekend were Emmy Astin (7s), Gus Astin (10s), Ashleigh Astin-Briggs (12s), Joshua Astin-Briggs (14s), Oliver Blackwell (9s), Addison Blazic (11s), Ieremaia Falemoe (10s), Marty Frost (10s), Charlotte Heyman (11s), Lennix Kis (11s), Lilah Kis (12s), Mackenzie Massey (13s), Elijah Mercer (14s), Rhys Pooley (9’s), Torin Pooley (11’s), Mason Rooke (9s), Archie Turano-Lyall (13’s) and Lena van Alphen (12’s).
