Congratulations to the seven (7) athletes who represented the Centre with distinction at the State Track and Field Championships last weekend. Under 13 athlete, Maiya Hewitt, performed magnificently winning gold in the 200m Hurdles, Long Jump and Triple Jump. Under 11 athlete, Temana Searle, won silver in the 100m. There were many personal best times and distances set, but just reaching this level of competition was a great achievement.
In a fitting reward for her performance at State Maiya Hewitt has been selected in the LANSW State team to contest the Australian Little Athletics Championships in Melbourne next month. Well done Maiya!
The Centre would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Under 11 athlete, Temana Searle, for his gold medal performance at the recent State Combined Event held in Maitland.
